County board approves 2026 budget

The Iowa County Board had no opposition to the budget it presented at a budget hearing last Wednesday.

A budget of $16,656,632 was approved after the short hearing. The budget has a mill rate of 4.43 which translates to a $100,000 home  being taxed at $443.00.

Last year’s mill rate was 4.80.

The entire meeting lasted 37 minutes and featured approving resolutions presented by  committees.  They included:

-county aid to town road bridge construction.  Bridges included are in the Towns of Arena, Clyde and Wyoming and totaled $26,512.83.

-proposed improvements to USH 151.  The county is opposed to closing off any further county or town roads which could be detrimental to farm to field and field to market traffic access.  Impacts to design work should be minimized...
