Barneveld School Board has busy meeting

At its Regular Board Meeting held on Wednesday, November 12th, in Reports, Principal Heather Schmitz told the Board that the 4k-5 and the ELA 6-12 Science Curriculum is up for review this year to include American Literature Play Reading, Creative Writing, Music/Band, Forensics Science and Astronomy, PreCalc, APUSH and Psych, and Accounting 2.  

She said Opera for the Young performed at the school on October 29th providing younger students with fine arts.  The Barneveld Education Foundation sponsored the event.  The whole school honored Veterans on November 11th with a school assembly led by the Fine Arts Department.  She posed a question to the Board regarding bus routes.  The question is: would the district consider a town bus route, or would the district consider re-implementing a fee for students who live within the village limits?  The situation will be monitored.  

And the production of ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields and Jonathan Sayer will be February 20-22 this year.  This year middle school students can be involved with over 40 interested students.  Two lead directors, Amber Bornheimer and Isabelle Sander, come as a recommendation from the UW-Madison Theatre Group.  Music teachers Cassidy DeWitt and Kate Rosenberger will assist.  

Superintendent Robyn Oberfoell thanked Principal Schmitz, Amanda Flanagan and Sarah Heimsoth for their work with the Barneveld Legion Post 433 and Barneveld Legion Auxiliary for the beautiful flag display in front of the school honoring the veterans and military personnel.  She reminded the Board that board members Nick Meyer and David Moyer’s seats will be scheduled for the spring.  Both members represent the Town of Brigham...
