Howdle, William (Bill)

William (Bill) Howdle, age 87, of Early, Texas formerly of Monfort passed away November 13, 2025. Bill was born and raised in Monfort.

He is the son of the late Roscoe (Rocky) and Genevieve (Gen) Howdle. He graduated from Monfort High School in 1957. He went to College at UW-Platteville until he was drafted in the Army. He was stationed in Germany. He served from 1962-1964. He lived in Auroa, IL upon his return. Went to College there for Construction.

He would drive by an Airport going to and from school. One day they had a sign for flying lessons – so he signed up and became a pilot. He then gave lessons at the Airport. Later he used the Pilot license to work for Pipeline companies. He made a business out of it and continued working until COVID which forced him to retire. He also worked overseas in the late 70's teaching Construction and this allowed him to tour other countries which he loved.

Bill is survived by his only daughter Tawna (Jerry Kerkenbush); his grandchildren, Ashley and Dakota. His great grandchildren, Connor and Liam. His brother, Dave. Four nieces, Christy, Stephanie, Laura and Sue; one nephew, Ross.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Richard (Dick) and Bruce; and his sister in law Charlene.

He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him in many ways. All that were a part of his life.

Celebration of Life will be November 30, 2025 at the Monfort VFW from 12-5. All who wish to attend are welcome.
