Donald J. Speth, Jr., age 71, of Belmont, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, of natural causes. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name and sent to PO Box 245, Platteville, WI 53818. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
He graduated from Belmont High School in 1972 and studied electromechanical design at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore. Donn worked at Milprint in Lancaster and later at Quantum Devices in Barneveld, retiring in 2023.
Donn was a true "jack of all trades," known for his resourcefulness and knack for fixing just about anything. He enjoyed following the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, NASCAR and dirt track racing. He especially loved following his grandsons in their sporting and school activities.
Donn is survived by his three children: Jeff (Haley) Speth, Jodi (Andrew) Hougan, and Kevin (Mallory) Speth; five beloved grandsons: Ayson, Axton, and Ayrow Speth, and Benjiman and Wesley Hougan; his mother, Joyce Speth; siblings: Debra Mitchell, Cynthia (David) Whitford, Jack (Gloria) Speth, and Lisa (Alan Walters) Speth; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Donald Sr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Donn's memory.
