Veterans Day: Honoring those who served our country

This year, Veterans Day falls on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The Dodgeville Chronicle has been gathering information regarding Iowa County’s Veterans Day observances. Please see below the following information reported:

Arena

The Arena VFW will be holding Veterans Day services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11 at the Arena Congregational Church 383 Oak Street. At that time names.of deceased members will be read.

Avoca

On Sunday, November 9, there will be a dinner hosted by Avoca American Legion Auxiliary starting at the Avoca Village Hall (Old School) at 12:00-1:00 p.m. The Riverdale School District, along with Post 85, will host a Veteran's Day Program on November 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverdale Jr and Senior High School. This program is for Avoca, Blue River and Muscoda area veterans.

Barneveld

There will be a Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 11, starting at 9:30 at Barneveld School Distric in the lower gym. 

Dodgeville

There will be a Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 11 at Dodgeville High School at 9 a.m., followed by a program with the Dodgeville American Legion and Dodgeville VFW at the Iowa County Courthouse Veteran’s Memorial at 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. there will be a drive through at the St. Joseph’s School parking lot. The veterans will also be treated to a breakfast at the high school at 8:00 a.m.

Hollandale

The Pecatonica Elementary School will be seving the Veterans breakfast at 7:50 a.m. followed by a Veterans Day program at 8:25 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11.

Highland

The Highland School District also has their annual Veterans celebration Tuesday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elementary School Gym.

Iowa-Grant

On Tuesday, November 11, there will be a Veterans Day program at Iowa-Grant High School Gym. The program starts at 10:15 a.m. All community members and all Veterans are invited and encouraged to attend. 

Mineral Point

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025 the Mineral Point Unified School District will be honoring its veterans. The first program takes place at 10:00 a.m. at the Mineral Point Middle/High School Gym followed by a program at the Mineral Point Elementary School at 2:00 p.m.

 On Tuesday, November 11, there will also be a short program at Library Park at 11 a.m.
