Fund Knowles Nelson Stewardship Fund

Dear Editor,

While wrapping up the trout fishing season recently on a local stream I reflected on the beauty of my surroundings and being able to fish a stream that has been impacted by the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Fund.  Fishing in the Driftless Area creates 1.6 billion dollars of annual economic impact on local business according to a study done at UW La Crosse in 2017.

The Knowles Nelson Stewardship Fund has to be passed!  This is no time for political partisanship.  Every Wisconsin legislator claims to support the continuation of the fund. Legislators must work out the details to continue the investment in land acquisition and management necessary to meet the challenges of climate change and provide accessible recreation for all.
