Mark, Nora Weigel

Nora Weigel Mark, age 50, of Des Plaines, Illinois, formerly of Montfort, Wisconsin, passed away from Uterine Leiomyosarcoma (ULMS) on May 20, 2025. She was born April 17, 1975, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Anton and Ellen Weigel.

Nora graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1993 and attended Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, earning a Bachelor of Art in history with a minor in anthropology. While attending college and visiting in Illinois, Nora met the love of her life Chuck Mark. 

Nora moved to Illinois after graduating college. Nora then worked as chiropractor intake personnel. Nora and Chuck Mark married on June 9, 2001, in Skokie, Illinois. Nora then stayed at home to raise her children. Nora's greatest gifts and accomplishments were her children. She excelled at being a mother and her greatest wish for her children is to live happy lives and to always be true to themselves. 

Nora is survived by her husband of 24 years, Charles Mark, her twin children Michael Mark (Cassie Fragale), and Renee Wagner (Max). Nora is further survived by her mother, Ellen Weigel, siblings Eric Weigel (Jean Bentley), Kent Weigel (Dorothy), Kelly Meyer (Steve), Carrie Weigel, Rebecca Patterson, and Gail Butteris (Matt), sisters-in-laws, Roseann Mark and Marlene Mark, and sister-like friend, Carole Lipinski. Nora is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews along with aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends. Nora was preceded in death by her father, Anton Weigel, paternal grandparents Harold and Lola Weigel, maternal grandparents Anderson and Lenice Dietzman, and father-in-law, Adolph Mark, and mother-in-law Dorothy Mark.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. A private burial and celebration of life will be held at a later date. For information, please call 847-699-9003.
