Recognitions, election of board officers, many items approved at Barneveld School Board Meeting

It was a busy Barneveld School Board meeting last Wednesday, May 7th.  First there was the recognition of several deserving individuals concerning Staff Appreciation Week.  Principal Heather Schmitz, is celebrating her 15th year at Barneveld leading and serving the school district.  School Counselor Angie Schulting is celebrating her 20th year at Barneveld, and Mark Ryan, a 30-year veteran, will retire at the end of the school year.  Mark has been a Middle School Social Studies teacher. Superintendent Robyn Oberfoell, and the board, send their best wishes to Ryan for his years of teaching and wish him a happy retirement.  

It was also Staff Appreciation Week at Barneveld and Oberfoell said, “We have the BEST!  There are over 70 adults who serve the school, and students every day.  We excel every day because of the leadership, compassion, and resilience demonstrated by these staff members.  All our staff is Golden,” she said.  

Oberfoell also thanked Jerilyn Fritz, a substitute teacher, for her kindness and generosity, saying Fritz has provided doughnuts, cider, and hot chocolate for the entire staff on numerous occasions.  This past week, Oberforell said Fritz celebrated Staff Appreciation Week with doughnuts from The Quality Bakery in Dodgeville, yet again....
