Mineral Point’s Tuttle tosses shutout win over Southwestern
Aida Tuttle had a game to remember for the Mineral Point softball team in a 10-0 win over Southwestern Thursday.
First of all she pitched a four hit shutout with a walk and six strikeouts over five innings to earn the win in the SWAL match-up.
Second, she had a round tripper that put a charge into the Pointers early.
Tuttle got Mineral Point on the board with a two run home run in the bottom of the first. Scoring ahead of her was Maddy Kabat who had reached on a hard single.
The next two runs came courtesy of a round tripper as Ella Kroll reached the fences after Ally Baehler got on with a single.
The Pointers also added two more runs in the bottom of the second. The first came when Kabat singled and Eliza Ingwell crushed a double to right to score her. The second came when Austy Kinch doubled to score Ingwell.
Ingwell added an rbi in the fourth when her sacrifice fly brought in Cylin Carey who had singled. The Pointers added another run when Kabat singled and came in on a hit by Haile Brant.
Baehler started the fifth with a double and made it 9-0 when she scored on a ground out. Ava Ingwell then ended the game when she walked and scored on a hit by Tenleigh Bockhop.
Kabat was 3x3 and Baehler 2x3 to lead the Pointer sticks. Also getting hits were Bockhop, Carey, Kroll, Kinch, Jadyn Schultz, Brant, Tuttle and Eliza Ingwell.
