Kovars, Bruce F.

Bruce F. Kovars, 63, passed away on March 13th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bruce was born on March 7th, 1962, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of the late John Kovars and Barbara (Nechkash) Klingbeil. On May 4th, 1996, he married Carol Dowling in Muscoda, WI.

At a very early age Bruce began dismantling and reassembling anything on wheels, which started a lifelong passion for fixing things. He was happiest when his hands were greasy, and he was turning a wrench. From cars to small engines, he was always up for a challenge. He owned and operated small businesses over the years, with the last being Highland Small Engine Repair in Highland, WI.

Bruce was wildly funny with a "unique" sense of humor, and he lived his life full throttle. He was known to be a risk taker, from popping wheelies on a motorcycle or tricked-out lawn mower to having demo derbies in his backyard. Burnt rubber was one of his favorite smells. He enjoyed watching the Packers and spoiling his fur babies JJ and Tank. But above all, Bruce was a family man. He loved his wife, sons and grandbabies beyond measure. He would do anything for his nieces and nephews. Every friend was family to Bruce, and for him, family was everything.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, his mother Barbara (Ron), his sons Scott (Jaime), Jonathan (Tracey), Christopher (Morgan), Buddy, and Jake (Shyanne). Siblings; Vicki (Bryan), Stevie, Sandy (Scott), Beth (Andrew) and Ron (Cherie). Grandchildren; Isaac, Sophie, Collin, Kalei (Babygirl) and Nevaeh (Peanut). His mother-in-law Phyllis Fish, sisters-in-law; Kathy (Dan), Nancy (AJ), and Tammy. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friend Chris (Michelle) Skreczko.

He is preceded in death by his father John Kovars, grandparents and father-in-law Bill Fish.

Please join us for a celebration of Bruce's life on May 3th, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Events at Castle Rock, 15040 Shemak Road, Muscoda, WI 53573. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
