Crubaugh, Joseph “Joe”

Joseph “Joe” Crubaugh, age 63, of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. He was born on March 17, 1962, in Dodgeville, Wis., the son of Michael and Florence (Osthoff) Crubaugh.

Joe graduated from Dodgeville High School with the Class of 1980. "Buddha," as he was known to his family, worked with his dad and siblings at Quality Bakery in Dodgeville, which his niece still owns and operates. He started working at Fosdal's in the mid-‘80s and purchased Fosdal's bakery from Jerry Fosdal 20 years ago. He recently handed the keys over to his business partner, Heather, but continued working.

Joe also served on the board of the Valley Bakers Association where he was able to help a large network of bakers in Wisconsin. In 2018, he was inducted into the Wisconsin Bakers Association Hall of Fame. For many summers, Joe enjoyed serving as the honorary lead baker at the cream puffs stand at the Wisconsin State Fair. He was also active with the Stoughton Area Chamber of Commerce.

On April 19, 2008, Joe married Kimberly (Berg) Crubaugh at Cathedral Rocks in Sedona, Ariz. They loved to take vacations together and spend quality time with their grandkids. Joe was a huge fan of all the Wisconsin sports teams and was an avid golfer. He had a goal of golfing in all 50 states and made many lasting memories on those golf trips. Most of all, he found great joy in being a dad and grandpa. He was there for anybody who needed him and enjoyed being part of the community.

Joe is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter, Kara (Bryan) Smith; son, Justin (Alison) Crubaugh; step-son, Colton (Brooke) Berg; brothers, Dave (Kris) Crubaugh, Mark Crubaugh and Chris (Tori) Crubaugh; sisters, Terry (David) Olson, Mary (Dan) Esch and Sheri (Jerry) Johnson; sister-in-law, Julie Crubaugh; grandkids, Nolan, Keegan, Declan, Penelope, Ronan, Jaden, Kiana and Lorelei; other relatives and many friends.
