Referendum discussion returns for Dodgeville School Board


Discussion and study is underway to determine how a referendum would enter into the Dodgeville school district’s future.

The last two referendum attempts failed to pass but a review of district finances affirms there is still a need to provide the level of education desired.

The discussion followed a report on board goals which determined that two stood out above the rest.  They were financial wellness and recruitment and retention of staff.  There were 110 votes of those surveyed for financial wellness and 92 for recruitment and retention.

Board member Mike Knoedler said those two should be considered together as they are both related.

District Administrator Ryan Bohnsack said Jamie Nutter of CESA #3, who has been assisting with determining board goals, will attend a future finance committee meeting to assist with the financial planning piece.  He will also attend meetings for recruitment and retention...
