Open Letter to Ms. Jenna Jacobson

Ms. Jenna Jacobson,

July 15, 2025

Ms. Jenna Jacobson

Candidate for Senate District 17

Room 128 North State Capital

2 East Main Street

Madison, WI 53702

Representative Jacobson,

On July 8, you chose our Ridgeway Community Center-formerly the elementary school-as the backdrop for your campaign announcement. No member of our staff or Village Board was notified in advance, nor were trustees given any opportunity to prepare or welcome you in an official capacity.

Our community takes great pride in transparent, collaborative relationships. We celebrate achievements, confront challenges head-on, and work hand-in-hand with the School Districts that serve Ridgeway. Your unannounced remarks on educational funding, centered on outdated information and made without local consultation, felt more like a political stunt than a genuine outreach.

If you intended to engage Ridgeway voters, this approach missed the mark. Instead of fostering dialogue, it created confusion among parents, staff, and elected officials who value thoughtful discussion over grandstanding.

We respectfully request that any future events held in Ridgeway be scheduled in coordination with the Village Board and relevant community partners. This simple courtesy ensures accurate representation, logistical readiness, and genuine two-way communication with the people you seek to serve.

We remain committed to constructive conversations about education, infrastructure, and community well-being. We hope you will approach our village with the same respect and planning that define our local partnerships.

Sincerely,

Bradley Butler

Village President, Village of Ridgeway Board of Trustees
