Many emotions felt in her death
Dear Editor,
Shock, disbelief, sadness, numbness, and anger are just a few of the many emotions that many of us at Lands' End and the surrounding local communities have experienced this past week since the shocking news regarding the death of Dorinda Segebrecht. My intention here is not to rehash the details of the incident that took place at Dorinda's home last Tuesday, July 15. We will read and hear much about the events surrounding this criminal act in the days and weeks ahead.
Dorinda worked at Lands' End for 33 years until her retirement a few years ago. She was a coworker of mine. Dorinda, along with her good friend Deb W., and I all had birthdays in late April. I believe Dorinda and I started working at Lands' End about the same year.
Dorinda was a kind, sweet, and warm-hearted person. Dorinda was a River Valley graduate who spent her married life in Barneveld raising her three children. I am a Pecatonica graduate so we had some great fun when Barneveld and Pecatonica would play against each other, especially in girls' basketball! One of my nieces is about the same age as her daughter Karla.
I know that Dorinda's family, friends, and coworkers will rally around each other to find emotional support and healing. I pray that God would ease the pain that we are all feeling at this difficult time.
