Healing is the priority

by J. Patrick Reilly

Murder does not happen in a small town.  If only that statement was true we would not be joining in mourning the person who lost her life last week in what could only be termed a senseless act.

The person who is accused of committing the act is in jail in Nebraska and will sometime be returned here to answer first degree intentional homicide charge.

It would be hard to find someone in  our area who did not know the accused or the victim or their family.  What happened spread a lot of pain to us all.

While we mourn we all have to appreciate our law enforcement agencies who quickly solved the crime and continue to make us safe.  Like us, they no doubt have connection with the families involved, but had to put their feelings aside to do their jobs.  They did them well.

As we attempt to heal remember the law enforcement personnel who performed their duties so well.  Let them know they are appreciated.

Keep all involved in our thoughts and prayers as we navigate the path to healing.
