Segebrecht, Dorinda Rae

Dorinda Rae Segebrecht, age 67, of Dodgeville, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2025, leaving a void in her family’s hearts forever.

Dorinda was born on April 25, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Dorothy (Leary) Pailing. She was one of seven siblings, all of whom she loved deeply. Proud of her rural roots, Dorinda grew up on the family farm in rural Barneveld and attended River Valley Schools alongside her five sisters and brother.

In 1976, Dorinda married Jeff Segebrecht, and together they raised three children: Rachel, Terry, and Karla. She was a devoted and hard-working mother, beginning with an in-home daycare while raising her children before spending 33 years as a dedicated employee of Lands’ End.

Family was at the center of Dorinda’s life. She cherished being a mother and grandmother, never missing a sporting event, a school program, or a chance to host a sleepover. Her grandchildren were the light of her world. On Thanksgiving, she reigned as the “queen of the kitchen,” delighting everyone with her famous homemade stuffing, turkey, and apple pies.

Outside of family, Dorinda enjoyed simple joys—planting flowers, traveling, getting her nails done, spending time with her two good friends (Deb M. and Deb B.), and caring for her beloved pets, Barron, Hershey, and Cocoa.

Dorinda is survived by her children: Rachel (Leo) Doescher of Hollandale, Terry (Katy) Segebrecht, and Karla (Carl) Pohlman of Barneveld; grandchildren; Alyssa, Lucas, Macy, and Reece Doescher; Jadon Wagabaza, Isabel, Makinley, and Griffin Pohlman; Nathan, Connor, Taylor, and Mason Segebrecht; and great-grandchild, Amelia. She also leaves behind her five sisters: Rosemary Doescher, Joanne (Steve) Deal, Donna (Rex) Hurd, Julie (Cal) Williams, and Nancy (Tim) Sullivan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Pailing; and her brother-in-law, Donnie Doescher.

Dorinda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warm heart, and her quiet strength.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.

The family also invites family and friends to a Celebration of Dorinda’s Life from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the BARNEVELD AMERICAN LEGION, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
