County board passes cyber security resolution to send to WCA


A resolution seeking Wisconsin Counties Association and State of Wisconsin support in cyber security prevention was tweaked and then passed by the Iowa County Board Tuesday.

Supervisor Justin O’Brien felt the resolution as presented did not allow collaboration between counties to problem solve if a cyber security breach occurs.  The resolution will now include wording allowing for counties to collaborate to problem solve and asks that they be allowed to work together if a breach takes place.

The resolution will go to the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA).

Several other resolutions were approved with some involving deep discussion.

Approved by the board was a resolution that allows the establishment of a task force to plan the 200th year celebration of Iowa County which will take place in 2029.  Those appointed with serve two year terms and the task force will come from one supervisor, two representatives from Historical Societies or similar organizations and four citizen members representing various parts of the county...
