Dodgeville water, sewer rates to rise

The Council heard a presentation from Senior Municipal Advisor Brian Roemer from Ehlers, Inc. The City contracts with Ehlers for assistance with fiscal studies, debt planning and issuance, and finance management strategies. Roemer discussed the City’s Water and Sewer planning regarding capital projects for both utilities and recommended future projections, the best options for the next ten years, and related costs to maintain financial sustainability.  

After his presentation, Hottmann mentioned that the City is in a good position with both water and sewer systems. Starting in 2027, residents will see their water bills increase by 3% every other odd-numbered year, and sewer bills will rise by 2.5% beginning in even-numbered years. Over ten years, the total cost is estimated to be around $15.  

Police Chief Brandon Wilhelm reported that his department received 138 calls for service for June, and reported his department is busy from an operational behind the scenes, getting ready for the upcoming events that will be happening in the city in July and August....
