Hillmen take off to get past Dodgers
Platteville found its second gear midway through the first half and went on to hand Dodgeville a 73-52 loss in SWC play Thursday.
A pair of 28 point performances—one each by Myron Reuter and Lucas Ludlum—keyed the win for the Hillmen. Jauron Blevins also reached double figures for the Hillmen with 10.
Platteville led 44-30 at the intermission. Reuter put in 13 and Ludlum 12 to finish off the Dodgers the second half.
The Dodgers had a pair of double figure scorers. Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard put in 15 and Jayce Halverson 13.
Dodgeville coach Matt McGraw had eight players find the scoring column.
“Their speed and pressure got us out of the style that has made us competitive lately,” McGraw said. “They got down hill on us early scoring a lot of layups. After some adjustments we did a better job keeping them out of the paint but then they knocked down quite a few 3’s.”
The Hillmen buried seven three pointers, three by Ludlum and two by both Blevins and Reuter.
“It’s one of those types of games that we have to learn from and move on,” said McGraw.
