Arrows pull away to take SWC contest from Dodgers

Dodgeville’s girls basketball team stayed even with Lancaster early and had a three point lead five minutes into the game but the Flying Arrows regrouped and went on to beat the Dodgers in the SWC test 71-40.

Jessica Morgan, who led all scorers with 23 points, got on a roll midway through the first half and contributed eight points in a 13-0 run that sent the core to 18-8. A second run ended the half with Lancaster leading 41-21.  Morgan had 18 points the first 18 minutes and Ava Green 10.

If it wasn’t Morgan finding the range it was Green, who finished the night with 16 points. Eight girls scored for the Arrows.

Emma Dougherty was the leading scorer for the Dodgers with 13 and Abilene Bartz added 12.  Dougherty had nine points the second half and Marlie McGraw all seven of hers as they put in 16 of the 19 the Dodges scored in the frame.

Lancaster closed out the game with a 30 point second half.
