Kosharek, Mary A.



Mary A. Kosharek, age 99, of Highland, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Dove Healthcare in Fennimore.  Mary was born December 3, 1926, in Castle Rock Township to William and Elizabeth (Elliott) Grimm and was a graduate of Highland High School.

She married Melvin Kosharek on June 25, 1947.  They were united in a 'triple wedding' that consisted of three Grimms and three Koshareks.  The couple farmed in Castle Rock Township, and Mary held several jobs off the farm: Badger Ammunition, Boscobel Transformer and Lands' End before retiring. 

Mary was a member of SS. Anthony & Philip Parish and Alter Society.  She was also a member of Highland EMS for 6 years.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mary always welcomed a houseful of love, laughter and good food. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin; her parents, William and Elizabeth Grimm; in-laws, Aldro and Christine Kosharek; brothers, Bernard (Ann) and Ronald (Martha an Cecilia) Grimm; sister, Evelyn (Laverne) Kosharek; sisters-in-law, Jean (Ray) Michek, Camilla (Richard) Ford; brothers-in-law, Aldro Jr. (Betty), Virgil (Rosie) and Donald (Mary) Kosharek; and son-in-law, John Bosch.

Mary is survived by her sons: Patrick (Susan) of Wisconsin Rapids, and their children Jessamyn (Chad) and Gillian (Sascha); Daniel (Kristina) of Santa Fe, NM, and their children Odessa (Santigo), Hanna (Kelvin) and Tantri; and  Jim (Linda) of Muscoda, and their children Ben and Wade; daughters: Cheryl Bosch of Highland, and her children Heidi (Craig), Minda (Mark), Bill (Traci) and Jackie (Kevin); and Teresa (Terry) Bomkamp of Highland, and their children Justin (Colleen), Lindsey (Jake) and Michael (Sarah); 27 great-grandchildren that she adored; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to thank Dove Healthcare for all the loving care they provided for their mother over the years.  In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to Dove Healthcare Lift Program, 1850 11th St, Fennimore, for the purchase of a lift transport van for resident activity use.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church, Highland. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Burial will commence at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Highland following mass.
