Augustus M. “Gus” Mitchell, age 33, of Blanchardville, formerly of Mineral Point, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 due to injuries sustained in semi milk hauler accident.
Gus was born on September 9, 1991 in Madison WI, the son of Julie McGuire & Mark Mitchell. Gus lived in Mineral Point growing up where he attended Mineral Point High School and graduated in 2010. Gus had many jobs that included working on multiple farms, tree trimming and even some concrete work. He then got into the trucking business and worked for a few different companies.
Gus’s true passion was the outdoors, he loved hunting and especially fishing. Gus was a natural fisherman that also enjoyed the new electronics to feed his passion. He loved being on his boat or in his Wilcraft ice fishing transportation vehicle. Gus was always the life of the party and had a free spirit soul. He was a fantastic uncle to his niece and nephews but even better father to his son Auggie. Gus absolutely loved being a dad and couldn’t wait to get done trucking to see his little boy.
Gus is survived by his son Auggie; his sisters Gretchen (Mitchell) Brandt and Sara Mitchell; his mom Julie (Mark) McGuire and his father Mark (Marsha) Mitchell; his good friend and mother of his son Auggie, Kayla Foley; and many aunts and uncles on the Zart, Mitchell and McGuire families
A Celebration of Life will be held the farm of Scott and Tammy Moneypenny, 2069 Tucker Road, Dodgeville, WI on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until ???.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to the family for an education fund for Gus’s son Auggie.
