Brindley, Shirley Mae (Fritz)

Shirley Mae (Fritz) Brindley, age 86, of Barneveld passes away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.

Shirley was born on February 11, 1938 in Boscobel, WI, a daughter of Arnold L. and Viola R. (Mayne) Fritz. She graduated from Boscobel High School. Shirley worked at Barneveld Schools for over 20 years in the kitchen and Barneveld Water & Sewer Dept.

She enjoyed her Saturday morning breakfasts and Bloody Mary’s at Thousand Island with her group of friends, attending BBFD water fights back in the day with her husband, family time with her grandkids, Friday fish fries and the yearly “fall” rides to Oakwood Fruit Farm.

Shirley is survived by her children David “Moose” (Brenda) Brindley, Douglas Brindley, Diane (Allen) Wenzel and Kathy Brindley (Dick Wieboldt); her grandchildren Levi (Erica Crews) Riggs, Miles (Mariana) Wenzel and Meghan Wenzel (fiancé Ustyn Franklin); her siblings Steve (Sally) Fritz, Gary (Cindy) Fritz and her brothers-in-law George Muender, Darrell (Maryann) Brindley, Ernest “Butch” (Charlotte) Brindley; her sister-in-law Karen Rothwell; other relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Arnold and Viola Fritz, baby son Gregory Allen, her brother Mike Fritz and sisters Irma Jeffreys, Gail Curtis and Nancy Muender, her brothers-in-law William Brindley and Robert Brindley and her sister-in-law  Evelyn Furstenberg.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 12 Noon until 3:00 p.m. at the BARNEVELD AMERICAN LEGION, 102 Wood Street, Barneveld, WI  53507.
