Downtown snow removal discussion, reports, approvals, and other Dodgeville Council news

In New Business the Dodgeville City Council approved a motion to remove a 2017 Ford Explorer from the police force. Chief Brandon Wilhelm said the new 2025 squad arrived early in January and was looking for the Council to utilize Wisconsin Surplus in Mt. Horeb to sell the vehicle and that the proceeds be utilized for outfitting other squad vehicles.
Wilhelm also requested the council approve the Wellness Policy Day Policy addition to the Dodgeville Police Department Wellness Policy. The motion was approved.
Also approved was a stipend of $1200 per month dating back to June of 2024 for Greg Lee who has been acting as interim Building Inspector since. The Administration and Personnel Committee recommended this to the Council and that the monthly stipend will continue until a new Building Inspector is hired, or another solution arises.
In old business, the Council approved a request from the Library Director, Carrie Portz, to have authorization to enter into contracts or agreements related to the library project that are under $10,000 without requiring further council approval, subject to legal review and consultation with the Department of Public Works as needed....
