Blotz, Edward Urban
Edward Urban Blotz, passed away on December 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on August 21, 1931 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the son of the late Edward Urban Blotz and Ellen Clavohn Blotz.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Susan Uddo Blotz; son, Michael Blotz, daughter, Teresa Blotz, parents Edward and Ellen Blotz, and brother Frank Blotz. Ed grew up in the Ridgeway, WI. He graduate in 1949 from Ridgeway, WI. After graduation he joined the Air Force where he served from 1951-1954. He met his true love, Susan Uddo Blotz in Denver, Co. They married February 1, 1958 and had eight children. They spent time in Oklahoma and Arkansas where Ed worked at a sporting goods store. They moved to Winslow, AZ where Ed went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1964. His career took him to Gallup, NM and Brownwood, TX where he retired in 1986. Ed and Susan retired to Buchanan Dam, TX. They found their way back to Brownwood in 2009 and to Gentry, Arkansas in 2023.
Ed enjoyed the outdoors. He was a gunsmith, fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He enjoyed watching baseball and feeding the deer.
Ed is survived and missed by his children, Edward Blotz III, Buchanan Dam, Tx; Barbara (Elvin) Huber, Gentry, AR; Mary (Jesse) Flores, Buchanan Dam, TX; Judy (Gil) Dean, Bastrop, TX; Richard (Tina) Blotz, Morgan, TX; and Steve (Tanya) Blotz, Manor, TX; his grandchildren, and his greatgrandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his first best friends, sisters Mary Edl, Boise, ID and Margaret Ranum, Waunakee, WI along with his many nephews and nieces.
Ed’s wishes were to have his body donated.
