An explanation of the new Dodgeville charter school
The Dodgeville School District is restructuring an internal program into the launch of SEEING Forward Charter School, a tuition-free, project-based learning environment for students in grades 6-12.
Designed for those seeking an alternative to traditional instruction, the school focuses on flexibility, real-world learning, and community engagement.
SEEING Forward Charter School was developed in response to the increasing need for alternative education options. For the past eight years, the district’s SEEING Forward alternative education program has helped at-risk students stay on track for graduation. However, as online and hybrid learning have become more prevalent, district leaders saw an opportunity to expand these offerings and better serve students through a dedicated charter school.
By transitioning to SEEING Forward Charter School, the district aims to:
• Expand Alternative Programming – Providing specialized professional development and enhanced resources for students.
