Wenger, Jerry A.

Jerry A. Wenger, 87 of New Glarus, formerly of Dodgeville, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2025, with his wife at his side at New Glarus House.

 Jerry was born on June 25, 1937, to Ambrose and Wilma (Derendinger) Wenger in Monroe, WI. He was a graduate of New Glarus High School. He served in the Army from November 1956 to November 1959 as part of the 101st Airborne Division, specifically the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment. After the military, Jerry worked in construction, building roads and digging foundations all over southwestern Wisconsin, as well as driving a semi all over the country, and working at House on the Rock for many years.  Jerry made friends wherever he went.

Jerry was an amazing storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. He also loved to fly whenever he could. Above all else, he loved his family. He was incredibly proud of his daughters, Kathryn and Kimberly, and would talk about them to anyone who would listen—always making sure the person he was talking to knew just how special they are.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Leslie T and Maxine (Meyer) Benson,  niece Connie Rufi, and son-in-law Robert Anderson.

Jerry is survived by his wife, "the gem of his life" Marcia of New Glarus; his daughters Kathryn Wenger and Kimberly Wenger, both of Weaverville, NC; his brother Ken (Mary Jane) Wenger of Blanchardville; and other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Per Jerry's request, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used to honor Jerry in the future are greatly appreciated.
