Halverson, Jody Kay

Jody Kay Halverson, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2025, at her home in Arlington, TX. She was born February 5,1958 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Lynn Halverson (Trankle) and  Dallas Halverson.

Jody's early years were spent on the farmlands of SW Wisconsin, where she attended Iowa Grant High School. After graduating she moved to Madison, WI where she embarked on a fulfilling career, initially in IT with AMPI and later finding her professional home at IHG Hotels in Arlington, TX. Her colleagues will remember her not only for her unmatched work ethic but also for the warmth and genuine feeling that they were her family.

Jody loved photography, dancing and was always up for an adventure. From soaking up the sun on a beach to hitting the slopes, she was willing to try any and everything. The annual sister trips were always a highlight for her. Memories of those trips will now be a mix of laughter and sadness.  She had a special bond with her brother Rick, as they shared the same sense of humor and relaxed attitude of life. From her mother, she was gifted the appreciation and love of art. She also observed her mom’s strength and resilience and used those same traits to see her through the ups and downs of life. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness was sincere and her love was unconditional. When she entered a room, you knew that your day would take a turn for the better.

Family celebrations from births to weddings were important to Jody and she attended as many as possible. Aunt Jody’s visits were highly anticipated and she will always hold the title of “the cool aunt”.

Jody is survived by her loving mother, Lynn Halverson (Joe Ihm), and siblings, Richard (Dorie) Halverson, Laurie (Rahman) Rezagholi, Cathy (Scott) Palan, Pam Halverson (Pat McGuire) and Becky (Dale) Wienkes.  Jody also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  Her special loved ones that preceded her in death now hold her in their arms.

As we say goodbye to Jody, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was. She was truly one of a kind and we know that she will now forever be on that sunny beach selling her t-shirts. Eternal love and hugs from all of us. Jody, you will be missed.

A celebration of life will be shared with family and friends at a future date.
