Local Level Governance Matters
Dear Editor,
As the upcoming election for the Mineral Point Township Board approaches, I want to encourage my fellow residents to support candidates who are committed to fair and effective local governance-leaders who understand that their role is to serve the entire community, not just those who share their personal beliefs.
Local government functions best when its leaders focus on the issues that directly impact township residents and is within the boards’ power to act-such as road maintenance, land use, and community services-rather than being distracted by broader political debates over which the board has no authority. The candidates I support have demonstrated a willingness to govern without bias, treating all residents with fairness and respect, regardless of their opinions on state or national issues.
What we need in our township are leaders who listen to their constituents, make decisions based on facts and local needs, and ensure that every resident-no matter their political or personal views-is treated equally. These candidates have pledged to do just that. They are committed to fostering a township government that is transparent, accountable, and focused on the well-being of our community as a whole.
I encourage voters to choose candidates who will put the needs of Mineral Point Township first, ensuring that our local government remains a place of fairness, respect, and effective leadership for all.
Vote Cy Heisner for Chair, Hollie Rickey for Supervisor (hollieformp.com), and Carly Cody for Supervisor on April1, 2025.
Sincerely,
Karin Condon
