Thompson found not competent to stand trial in Iowa County Court

23-year-old Gavin Thompson, the man accused of killing a 67-year-old Dodgeville woman, Dorinda Segebrecht, in July of 2025, was found not competent to stand trial during a court hearing held Friday, December 12 in Iowa County Court.  

Judge Craig Day ruled that Thompson is not competent to stand trial at this time but said in the future he likely will regain competency.  Thompson was in court, in custody, with his attorney Allison Markoski.  District Attorney Zachary Leigh appeared representing the State of Wisconsin.  Both Thompson and the State agree with the competency evaluation...
