Knudson, Lois Ann (Thomas)

Lois Ann (Thomas) Knudson, age 92, of Mineral Point, WI died on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was born February 22, 1933 in Dodgeville, WI to Willie and Emily (Jones) Thomas. She grew up on the family farm between Ridgeway and Dodgeville. Lois was the youngest of 5 children and the only girl in the family.

Lois married Bob Knudson on May 5th in 1955. They started Knudson Motor Service in 1959, Lois did all office tasks associated with Knudson Motor Service. Their son Mark was born December 1, 1956. Their daughter Mary was born May 6,1960.

Lois had an unending interest in genealogy. Thanks to her work, each branch of her family knows their ancestral roots and has their family tree. This love of genealogy led her to volunteer at the Mineral Point room at the Mineral Point Library. She and 3 friends from the neighborhood met regularly to build genealogies for their families. Lois and her daughter, Mary worked together on many genealogy searches finding links to past families.

Lois is survived by her son Mark (Maria) Knudson of Rochester, NY and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her daughter Mary, her parents, her in-laws (Peter & Nellie Knudson) her brothers William (Gladys) Thomas, Gordon Thomas, Robert (Twila) Thomas, and Spencer Thomas, brother-in-laws Harry (Bernice) Knudson, Elwood (Joyce) Knudson, Don (Joan) Knudson, Jim (Ag) Knudson, sister-in-laws Thelma Knudson, Dorothy (Charlie) Hunter, and Blanche (George) Satkoff.

Funeral services will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery in Dodgeville, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mineral Point Room at the Mineral Point Library or the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point.
