Eagles cruise to win over Black Hawk

Going into their game with Black Hawk coach Jim Myers knew there was one thing that had to happen.

That was controlling Maddy Place.

Message sent, message received.

The Golden Eagles held Place to four points as they rolled to a 62-14 win in a Six Rivers East game Tuesday. All four points came from the free throw line.

“She was averaging 28 points per game going in,” Myers said.  “We knew we had to hold her down.”

So they did.

The Eagles raced to a 35-3 halftime lead with Izzy Durst leading the way with 16 of her game high 26 points.

Rowan Valcheff also got into double figures for the Eagles with 13, eight in the second half.

Next up is another road game at Potosi Friday.
