Hasburgh, Joseph “Joe” Jr

Joseph “Joe” Jr Hasburgh passed away November 24th, 2025 at Pine Valley Community Village. Joe was born January 28th, 1930 in Irish Hollow, Highland WI to Joseph and Christine (Kreul) Hasburgh. He graduated in 1947 from Highland High School and was inducted into the 13th Armored Division of the Army at Fort Sheridan in April 1951. Joe met the love of his life, Cleo “Tootie” Groves, while dancing and they were married November 20th, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richland Center. After the wedding they moved to Fort Hood, Texas where Joe was stationed. He served during the Korean War and was discharged from the Army in May of 1953. After serving his country he returned to Highland. Joe worked as a lineman for a short time before beginning his farming career and raising his children with Tootie.

The Hasburgh farm was the place to be and everyone was always welcome. Everyone enjoyed coming to talk around the kitchen table, play cards, and tell stories. Joe and Tootie were proud members of a Highland area card party for over 50 years. Along with playing cards once a month, the card party enjoyed trips around the country in a motorhome, celebrating anniversaries with mock weddings, and going out to dinner for birthdays and anniversaries. They also belonged to the Pulaski Area Community Club for many years. Joe was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, served on the Pulaski Township Board for 20 years, and was a Wisconsin Dairies Delegate.

Joe enjoyed taking drives around the countryside, traveling out west, dancing, playing cards, and going to the casino. Family was at the forefront of Joe and Tootie’s lives and they rarely missed sporting events, musical performances, or family gatherings for their children and grandchildren. Later in life, he looked forward to visits from the great grandchildren and kept busy “tinkering” on the farm.

Joe always hung close to his faith and prayed the Rosary daily up until the end. He was a lifelong member of the Saints Anthony and Philip Church.

Survivors include his children Jack Hasburgh, Ronald Hasburgh (Leanne Laufenberg), William Hasburgh, and Patty Hasburgh all of rural Muscoda, Deb Marshall and Franny (Doug) Hasburgh Mueller, son-in-law Rod Reetz, and former son-in-law Tom Marshall of Richland Center; grandchildren Megan (Sean) Nelson, Morgan Hasburgh (Shawn Waltz ), Renee (Neil) Christensen, Ryan (Cassie) Reetz, Alex (Kami) Marshall, Andy (Amber) Marshall, and Cody (Chelsi) Clark. Great Grandchildren Josephine, Cullen, and Faith Nelson, Addy, Briggs, and Isla Marshall, Mayson Marshall, and Owen and Jordan Clark. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Williamson.
