Iowa-Grant school fee collection back to “old school”

Issues with the vendor for fee collections has caused changes in how payments will be made to start the year at Iowa-Grant schools.

The present fee system is having its problems and District Administrator Michael Shimshak said the issue is being addressed.  The company that has been used has been bought out and customer satisfaction is at an all time low. It is a problem throughout the network and not just at Iowa-Grant.

To deal with the problem Shimshak said the district is returning to “old school” methods.

“Due to unresolvable problems with our vendor for the management of fee collection, all fees will be payable the old fashioned way, (checks or cash). When a workable solution is found for a new vendor, we will return to a system that provides for on-line fee payments,” said Shimshak. 

Matching paint at the IGEMS gym has been a problem the Iowa-Grant school board also learned Monday.

The district will have a paint person come and give advice which hopefully will allow the project to move forward.
