Larsen, Linda K.

Linda K. Larsen, age 81 of Dodgeville, passed away on her terms—peacefully, in the middle of the night—on July 29, 2025, at the Upland Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dodgeville. She was the oldest daughter of Glenwood and Dorothy Anderson.

After graduating from Dodgeville High School, she obtained her LPN from Madison School of Nursing. She worked at Bloomfield Manor as a night nurse until her retirement. Linda further showed her compassion during various disasters notability helping with Hurricane Katrina and the Siren, WI tornado clean-ups, as well as dozens of other mission trips.

Linda had a very outgoing spirit and showcased it through her many adventures from riding motorcycles, to farm work, horseback trail rides, canoeing the Boundary Waters, and hiking the Appalachian Trail. She was an AMAZING shot—she could hit anything. She knew every lake, every trail, and every waterfall as well as the fastest route to get there. She was a survivor and a MacGyver.

Linda had an amazing sense of humor—she loved playing practical jokes on and instigating shenanigans with her fellow nurses, family and friends. She was an incredibly loyal friend and was always there when you needed her, and that loyalty was returned tenfold to her when she needed them. Anyone who knows her has a Linda story or adventure.

To sum Linda up, she was: attentive, gracious, unselfish, an adventurer, frugal, hard-working, survivor, explorer, wanderer, MacGyver, thoughtful, curious, and above all, she was a free-spirit.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, twin siblings Sam Anderson and Sue Bull.

Linda is survived by her daughter Darlene (Cory) Palzkill, grandson Cooper Palzkill, nephews Todd Anderson and Chris (Amber) Bull, and brother-in-law Les Bull, as well as other family and many life-long friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be split amongst her favorite charities: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and various local missionary groups.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Upland Hills Health NRC and Upland Hills Hospice for the wonderful care and dedication to Linda and her family. They would also like to thank all of Linda's friends who came to visit her, sent her cards, food, gifts, and plants. The family also extends a special thank you to the Faith Lutheran Church in Mineral Point for the beautiful prayer shawl given to Linda.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Otter Creek Lutheran Church, 4809 Co Hwy P, Highland, WI. Friends may arrive beginning at 10:30 a.m. to find seating.
