Traffic stop on Hwy. 14 results in arrests, drug siesure

Sheriff Michael Peterson reports that on September 23, 2024 at 7:40 p.m. that Iowa County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 14 in the Township of Arena. As a result of the stop, two individuals were arrested: Benjamin J. Peterson, 30, of Mazomanie, was arrested on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Amphetamine and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping. Haley M. Jorgensen, 31, of Ridgeway, was arrested on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Amphetamine and a Probation Hold. Both Peterson and Jorgensen are currently in custody.

Iowa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force and Gaugers Salvage. 

This traffic stop resulted in the seizure of over 92 grams of meth, a  large amount of cash, and a vehicle.  Iowa County Law Enforcement will continue to work to get these drugs of the street.  If you are looking for resources for help, call 988 to start getting the help that you need for substance abuse.
