Be A Better Informed Voter
Dear Editor,
Wisconsinites can be proud that the November election will be conducted with the fair maps finally approved by the legislature this year after a long political and legal battle. We are no longer known as the state with the most gerrymandered maps in the country. However, did you know that we still have no legal structure in place to assure that we will continue to have fair maps when the time comes around again for redistricting? This matter will be addressed at a forum featuring Nick Ramos, Executive Director of the nonpartisan Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. He will also talk about the confusing constitutional amendment on this year's November ballot.
This forum, sponsored by the Iowa County Election Education Team (ICEET), will take place on Sunday October 6 from 4:00 to 5:00 at the Dodgeville High School Auditorium. We hope you can take this opportunity to join with others who are concerned about the future of our democracy in Wisconsin, get answers to your questions, and be a better informed voter.
