Vote “Yes” on referendum

Dear Editor,

Since bringing our family to live in Dodgeville 34 years ago, my wife Becky and I have seen the city grow and evolve.  Although some people have come and gone, we have made many friends here, and we are proud of the Dodgeville community.  People from other parts of the state have commented to us on the friendliness of the people here.  Dodgeville is truly a great place to raise a family.

One of the foundational elements of any community is its school district.  It is at the core of who we are here in Dodgeville.  My three kids are all products of the Dodgeville School District.  My two daughters and one son in law teach in the elementary school.  My six grandchildren will all benefit from their education here.  We want to give a big shout out to all of the teachers, coaches, and staff members who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in all of their lives.  We don’t always see it, but we know it’s happening on a daily basis.

Currently our school district needs all of our help.  Soon we have a school referendum on the fall ballot for operating expenses.  Do we want to see our property taxes increase?  No, of course not, but I understand that if it was not absolutely necessary, school officials wouldn’t be asking for our help.  So my hope is that here in Dodgeville we vote “YES” on the school referendum in this fall’s election.

Sincerely:

Chuck and Becky Tank
