Van Orden, we deserve answers

Dear Editor,

To Rep. Derrick Van Orden: As our US Representative, you choose to insulate yourself from debates, public appearances and interviews with non-partisan journalists. You constituents deserve the answers to these questions and more:

1) Many Republican lawmakers call for cuts or the elimination of Social Security and Medicare. Will you vote against your own party on these issues? 

2) You have called abortion a “genocide”. How can we trust you would now vote against a national ban?

3) Why do you oppose funding the fight for democracy in Ukraine?

4) You continually vote against efforts to slow climate change and mock those who worry about the environment. Why disregard the science of climate change?

5) The 3rd CD has more college students than any other District in Wisconsin, why do they not deserve loan forgiveness?

6) Your border policies would negatively impact Wisconsin farmers. Why are you so intent on limiting the labor that fuels Wisconsin agriculture?

7) You stated that farmers selling food to China is equivalent to feeding Nazi Germany.  How do you explain this to Wisconsin farmers who depend on exporting food to China for their livelihood?

8) Do you feel name-calling and public outbursts are effective legislative tactics?

9) You spend a large amount of time sharing conspiracy theories, posting misinformation, and attacking your constituents online. How is this representing their interests?

10) You claim to support veterans, so why are you comfortable lying about the service records of veterans who disagree with you?
