Apology for earlier statement
Dear Editor,
In my letter to the editor from September 5th I unfairly called out my neighbors for considering or signing offers from Pattern Energy. My neighbors deserved a personal conversation rather than a public denouncement.
I let my personal emotions about staying in my home affect my relationships with my neighbors. I put in jeopardy harmonious relationships that my husband and I have had with many of these folks for over 20 years. It is horrific that the issue of IWT has become so polarizing to our county.
Even though I fear for my ability to stay in our home, my comments would have been best saved for a private conversation with our neighbors. I cannot take back what I said, I can only offer in person and in public a sincere apology for the disappointment and strife that my words caused those people nearest to me. This is a difficult situation for everyone involved. I apologize for making it more difficult for our neighbors.
Sincerely,
Kipalee Bakken, Mineral Point
