Giant Republican Postcards

Dear Editor,

Golly, gee whiz, the Republicans certainly love their giant postcards this election cycle.  The postcards show the scary Democrat incumbent opponent with horrible ideas and the Republican newbie with terrific, broadly impossible plans.  How could anything possibly go  wrong with Republican promises.  Haven't Republicans always been for the little guy rather than the millionaire/billionaire.  Their plan is for trickle down economic policies, which seldom ever become even dribble down economics.  They are the party of no.  They are against almost everything ordinary people want...things like responsible policies for gun ownership (including universal background checks), a woman's right to bodily autonomy, making voting as easy as possible, and making sure that all citizens have housing, medical care, and enough to eat.

Eric Hovde and Donald Trump want you to think that they can control inflation.  That is absolutely true, if you want inflation to skyrocket.  I have no idea how Hovde plans to reign in inflation (as I'm quite certain that he has no idea either): but what a swell guy to make such pie-in-the-sky promises.  Donald Trump, on the other hand, plans to control inflation by imposing tariffs on what we buy from other countries, especially China.  The man is a moron who doesn't understand anything about economics.  I say this as a retired economist.  A tariff is a tax on the final purchaser.  That's me and you folks.  If you want to see inflation take off beyond your wildest dreams, just put Trump in charge.  The man has never had to reign in his personal spending.  Do you think that he has any idea what the cost is for a gallon of milk, or a loaf of bread, or a gallon of gas?  He has people who do his buying while he watches himself on television.  What makes you think that he has any idea of how to help you?
