Dodgeville board discusses referendum info to public


Keeping the public informed on why the Dodgeville School Board has decided to go to referendum at November 5 general election took place last Wednesday.

The board is seeking approval to obtain an additional $2.9 million dollars each year for the next four years.  The board feels that amount will allow the school district to operate as it is now and maintain quality education.  The board feels it has made cuts as deeply as possible without sacrificing the quality of the education they presently provide.

For tax purposes it is estimated the rate with be $332 on a $200,000 home.

They want to do everything they can to explain to the taxpayers why the additional funding is needed and how the money will be used efficiently....
