Choices
Dear Editor,
We are looking at the next 2 months observing the activity of two political parties and what they are doing or have done to get where we are at now. I attended an emotional military service held for Cpl Robert Raess of Dodgeville Wisconsin who gave the ultimate sacrifice to his country being killed in action in 1950 in The Korean War at the age of 21. Since his remains were unaccounted for until through technology until this year he was able to be returned and buried next to his parents, 74 years later. As we all watched the long awaited deserved recognition for Cpl. Raess conducted by the outstanding group of military personnel, we can be very proud of all our military past and present.
When I think about choices that we will have to make before election day I can't help get over the things that have happened on the hallowed ground of Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC. or the fact that a comment was made about military hero's who died to protect our freedom as being su##rs and lo##rs. Never forget most of these hero's were in many cases less than 25 years old, and I knew many of them.As a Christian I respect a young man who gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of us on Good Friday.
So the question becomes in the end how are things going in your world and what choice will you make. Since the last election there is now a 50 year low in unemployment and I think employees have found paychecks are better, and more opportunities are available.
Mortgage rates are beginning to fall. Disposable income and wealth are up since the pandemic. Inflation was kicked off by the Pandemic but has returned to a normal 2.9%.
When you ask most people how are things going they will tell you oh pretty good, and ask them how they feel about the economy and they will say it's bad.
I will be voting for my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren because I have to live live with my choices.
