Heintz, Darlene Elizabeth

Darlene Elizabeth Heintz, age 72, peacefully passed away at her home in Prairie du Sac on Friday, August 30, 2024.  She was born in Hazel Green on September 25, 1951 to the late Wilhelm H. and Grace W. (Martens) Jansen. She attended and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1969. She went on to graduate from U.W. La Crosse in 1973 with a degree in Geography and Mathematics. Darlene, along with her three young children, lived in Germany for several years during the 1970's and 1980's due to her former husband's military service. They traveled throughout Germany, and also visited France, Spain and Switzerland. Darlene and her kids then settled in Mineral Point. Always a hard-working woman, she worked for Lands' End in Dodgeville for 25 years and also worked for her family at Jansen Editorial Services for more than 20 years. She loved the Packers and Badgers, putting together puzzles and sewing and mending her children and grandchildren's clothing and stuffed animals, and was always known to have a variety of candy nearby for her family.

Darlene is survived by her children, Tony (Sara Hoven) Heintz, Trina (Geoff) Ashworth, Aaron (Theresa) Heintz; 4 grandsons whom she adored and spoiled every chance she got, Brogan (Kiana Litscher) Ashworth, Rhys Ashworth, Arlo and Milo Heintz; siblings, Lois (Ambrose) Rupp, Lindy Reige, Gary (Sandy) Jansen, Dennis (Jan) Jansen; brothers in-law, Fraser Gurd and Bob Burbach. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanette Burbach and Judy Jansen; and the father of her children, Gary Heintz.

Darlene's family would like to express their sincerest thanks to Agrace Hospice, especially RN Kevin and CNA Mary, and to Darlene's Pulmonologist Anna for her care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Gifts in memory of Darlene can be made to your favorite charity.
