Samuel Anderson, 77, of Dodgeville, Wl passed away at his home in Denver, CO after a short battle with leukemia.
Sam was the only son of Glen & Dorothy Anderson. He graduated Dodgeville High School in 1964, got married after graduation and was drafted into the US Army serving in Vietnam. Upon returning from service he welcomed a son Todd. Sam learned the plumbing trade from his father in law and worked as a plumber/journeyman his entire life. His career took him from Florida to Alaska but Colorado captured his heart and he made his home there.
He loved quiet Sunday mornings with a cup of coffee and the classified ads from every newspaper. He would scour them for hours. Sam had a gift of gab ... he could talk for hours about P39 AirCobra's, old cars/trucks, or any worldly event. He never missed a special celebration (wedding, reunion or milestone birthday party) and enjoyed catching up with friends and family.
To sum up Sam's life is impossible. He was magic and larger than words. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He lived by his own rules and loved life. His regrets were few and his adventures were many. lf you were lucky-enough to spend time with Sam you treasured it and the genuine smile he left you with.
Sam was a dabbler in many things and a dreamer from beginning to end.
He is survived by his son, Todd, his sister Linda, a nephew Chris, a niece Darlene, a brother in law, Les and numerous close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister Sue.
Per Sam's request there will be no services. The family suggests donations to his "High School Class of 1964" sent to: Darlene Palzkill, 4704 Cty. Rd. S, Mineral Point, Wl 53565 He rarely missed a reunion and planned his trips home around the "class breakfast" at the Red Room.
