Amortization of the National Debt
Dear Editor,
Current estimate of the National Debt - $35 trillion
Estimate of interest rate - 4%
Total of population of America -$345 million
Total per person -$101,450
At $5,000 per person, payment - $1.77 trillion
Number of years to pay off at that rate - 40 years
In my non-professional opinion, we need to implement National Debt Reduction Taxes; employee, business, property and corporate. This is an enormous undertaking. We ALL need to work together on this. One nation, under God. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th U.S. President said it very, very well, “It is not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country.” 1961 to 1963.
If we fail to act, our interest rates climb and we will fail to find creditors. It would culminate in the second Great Depression. I prefer to not get my meal of the day, a cup of soup and a slice of bread from a soup line. The first in the 1930’s.
Corporate tax is above my comprehension but if I understand it right, coporations get a tax deferment for investments overseas. When faced with not paying taxes and cheaper labor, I would go oversees also. End overseas tax deferments? We need more legislation leadership.
This is what I came up with, what do you get?
Under God,
