Words have different meanings
Dear Editor,
Do you know what you mean? Do others know what you mean? The meanings of some words have changed or have been added to over the years, some for the sake of modernity, some for the sake of agenda. But do you know what you mean?
In the early 2000s, Fox had a sitcom called "Grounded For Life". In one episode, the father embarrassed the daughter as she was talking to a boy in the street. The daughter exclaimed "I'm literally dying over here". The father replied "okay, you need to look up the meaning of the word literally". If you look at the meaning of the word literally in an online dictionary today, you'll see it now contains the definition of its antonym "figuratively".
Other commonly used words you should consider the definition of are "Fascist", "truth", "racist","Democracy", and "narcissist". The definition of the word "Vaccine" has also been updated to include mRNA shots, but I believe they should wait until the mRNA shots are safe and effective.
I understand the meaning and usage of words changes, but lately It seems to be more for the purpose of agenda, than for the update. Today, using some words correctly can seem provocative to many!
