Massey, Neal R.



Neal R. Massey, age 95 of Dodgeville, formerly of Hollandale, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Neal was born on the Massey Family Fam on November 2, 1928, the son of Wendell and Sarah (Reese) Massey. He was a graduate of Hallandale High School and the UW Agricultural Short Course. Neal married Amy Thompson of Blanchardville on November 5, 1950. Together they farmed the Massey Family Farm until retiring in 1985. Neal was a member of Barneveld Masonic Lodge and Zor Shrine Camel Patrol. He served as the Moscow Township Chairman and drove for the Commission on Aging for many years.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom on December 10, 1974; sister, Roberta (Donald) Fulmer; mother-and father-in-law, Howard and Goldie Thompson; brother-in-law, Homer (Mary) Thompson.

Neal is survived by his wife, Amy of Dodgeville; daughter, Elizabeth Randall and husband Ron Distler of Scales Mound, Il; son, Vernon of Richland Center; grandchildren: Bethany Randall, Jacob Randall, Mallory (Mark) Hermanson, and Wyatt Massey; step-grandchildren: Nicholas Distler, Nathan (Danielle) Distler, and Melissa (Chris) Wachter; two great-grandchildren, Lyla Randall, Arlo Hermanson; many step-greatgrandchildren; nephew, Brian (Lisa) Thompson; niece, Christine Thompson; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 14, at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church, 327 N Iowa St, Dodgeville. Masonic Rites will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the Middlebury Cemetery in rural Barneveld.  The Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville, is serving the family.
