Busy week for DP United soccer

Last Monday evening the D-P squad hosted Columbus. Despite the home team controlling the ball and field position for nearly the entire first half, excellent goalie play held the score to nil-nil at halftime.

Dodge-Point then erupted with four quick scores in the second half to pull out the 4-0 win. Senior John McGraw connected twice while juniors Damon Marr and Paul Weitkus each found the net once.

Prairie du Chien visited Tuesday for a conference match-up. Another strong goal keeper performance defended United's offensive attack and held the home team to just two scores despite a heavy advantage in shots-on-goal. John McGraw connected on a nice drive and senior Gavin Houttakker scored a very rare throw-in goal. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Thursday Dodge-Point traveled to Mount Horeb for an evenly matched contest. Senior Bryce Golbert defended the goal well but the Vikings pulled out the win 1-0.

October 14 the Dodge-Point United team will be hosting their match against Mauston at Mineral Point High School.
