A strong leader
Dear Editor,
I don’t particularly care for Donald Trump but I plan to vote for him in November. I don’t pick a president because he/she gives me a warm-fuzzy feeling or makes me want to breakout into a chorus of “Kumbaya. If that were the case, Mister Rogers would have been president. Heck, I doubt, if offered, I would ever sit down and have a beer with Donald Trump. I find him somewhat obnoxious and boisterous. But I don’t care! I want a strong leader, not someone who promises to fix the issues that were created by their own administration.
I choose a president because they project a strong presence to the rest of the world (Xi, Vladimir, Kim). Because their policies are solid and fundamental.
I prefer gas prices at $1.87/gal., home interest rates at 2.65%, our borders that are under control and groceries that are affordable. I don’t like the idea of my granddaughters sharing a locker room with a male. I don’t like illegal border-crossers who have a long history of criminal activity. I don’t like convicted felons given taxpayer funded sex changes. And, I don’t like the fact that 200,000-300-000 children who have crossed the borders are missing.
Twenty years ago, if someone told me about a country suffering from all these issues, I would have wondered what third-world country they were talking about and likely prayed for those poor individuals.
